Critical Thinking in the Age of Fake News

#conference #learning #online #stories

Sabine Finzi and Iulia Grosman present a conference on how to arm yourself against fake news.

We will examine the responsibility of the European Institutions and their staff members when confronted with decision-making, absorbing information or writing reports. During this session, the participants will discover the latest cutting-edge scientific advances in detecting fake news and knowing its characteristics. The series of practical tools and methods presented will lead participants to:

  • Improve their knowledge around fake news, hoax, buzz, bias and urban legends.
  • Question the roles of experts and non-experts in communication in the age of Fake News.
  • Improve their information processes on their own and with the help of digital tools.
  • Organise reflections of critical thinking around the main themes of their work.
